Seclusion Room Intercom System
Ensuring Safe and Effective Communication in Seclusion Rooms
The Seclusion Room Intercom System facilitates secure and reliable communication between patients in a seclusion room and staff located outside, such as in a corridor. This system is designed with patient safety and staff convenience in mind, adhering to the Mental Health Act (MHA) Code of Practice requirements.
Key Features of the Seclusion Room Intercom System
- Anti-Ligature Design
The system includes an anti-ligature speaker and microphone mounted in the ceiling of the seclusion room, ensuring safety and durability in mental health environments. - Corridor Intercom Station
A flush-mounted stainless steel intercom station is installed in the corridor (a surface-mounted option is also available). This station allows staff to listen to the patient and communicate by pressing and holding the “Press to Talk” button. - En-Suite Option
For additional flexibility, the system can include a second water-resistant microphone and speaker for en-suite communication. - Music Playback Option
The system supports music playback when the Bluetooth unit is installed. The K2Audio unit features:- Front Panel 3.5 mm jack
- Bluetooth compatibility
- Up to 4 Speaker outputs
- Balance, un-Balance setting
This option enhances the patient environment, providing a calming atmosphere if needed.
Compliance with the Mental Health Act Code of Practice
The MHA Code of Practice emphasises the importance of communication in seclusion settings:
“Allow for communication with the patient when the patient is in the room, and the door is locked, for example, via an intercom.”
Our system ensures compliance, giving staff the tools to maintain contact with patients securely and effectively.
