Open MRI Scanner to Control Room Intercom Description
Scanner to Control Room Intercom to provide Communications between the patient in the scanner room and the control room is provided via a speaker and microphone mounted in the ceiling of the scanner room and a master station in the control room.
This system will only work if the patient is not in an enclosed scanner. most enclosed scanners have a built-in communications device.
Operation
To communicate with the patient on the Scanner press the “Call” key, this will open the communication system in Listen only mode, then press and hold the “PTT” key to talk to the patient, let go to return to listen mode
The patient in the scanner cannot hear the operator without the “PTT” key being pressed
When Pressing the “PTT” key the relay will cut music from Avid if fitted
Close System
At the end of the procedure to cancel all communications (Switch OFF) press “Close”
Patient Call Pendant Option:
Operation
- The patient can call the control room by pressing the call button. Ringing will be heard at both stations, in the control room press “0” to listen, then hold the “T” button to talk to the patient in the Theatre, and let go of the “T” button to return to listen mode. In this mode music will be off until you press “X”, then music will be reconnected.
Close System
To cancel all communications press “C”.
This system is installed in a number of hospitals in the UK.
Note. Care must be taken when selecting the correct filter for the Faraday cage.
